My computer died again on Saturday morning. Despite its newness, our building gets these power fluctuations. No problems with my iMac for six years; I move and it's died twice. Went and purchased a ridiculously expensive surge protector on advice of the entertaining Mac Alliance guy: "At least 2000 joules. That's joules, not jewels (he proceeded to spell the words out for me)." Computer, please god and angels and animal spirits and what have you, to come home tomorrow or Wednesday. I am bribing C with lunch to go pick it up (he'd probably do it without lunch, but the carless must be nice to their wheeled friends). Neighbor B took me to drop it off on Saturday, declined lunch, but we went and shopped on Guadalupe. She bought shoes. I bought cheap sparkly earring to sooth my inner magpie.
