soup peddler and revision
Jan. 11th, 2005 04:19 pmRevision of a short story is so the hardest part of writing for me. And getting going on a revision is the hardest part of revising. Trying to figure out where to insert the knife, which part of what wall to take a sledge hammer to...what exactly needs to change and how and where in order for the a story to fly. Gah, I says. It's very easy for the three hours a morning (max, if I get up early enough) that is my writing time to be completely frittered while I circle and avoid and just don't get to it. Which is one thing when there's no deadline involved, a whole other thing when there is one. Gimme a gah.
In other, soupier news, my friend P told me about this guy here in Austin, the Soup Peddler. Given recent developments south of my belly button, and the lack of time or energy I seem to have for constantly cooking things good for me and the southerly regions, I think I'm gonna do this, at least try it out. I've applied anyway. Gosh, I hope they accept me. Maybe I should have worked a little harder on that personal soup statement.
I make googly eyes at you. Yes, you.
