Finished the latest review/interview and sent it off; I imagine the editor will have revisions for me to make; he's like that.

Current story under revision is progressing slowly.

Not sure this mobile phone thing is going to work out; it's probably just that it's a poor quality phone (came free with the plan), but I can't stand the sound quality. Calling Canada is going to be scarily expensive. I'm giving it until Friday, then either the land line gets cancelled, or the mobile gets cancelled and sent back (and I'll try to shave something or other off the land line bill, which is just too freaking high).

Tonight I'm going to the awards dinner for the Hamilton Award, which is an award given to works published by University of Texas faculty or staff. I don't expect I won, since the award seems meant more for scholarly works, but novels are accepted, I've worked at this blasted university of many years, got my MA here, and wrote this particular novel while I was post-grad here. So, I entered it. At the least I'm getting a free dinner at the Four Seasons. Nadia will be my date. (No likely prospects for an actual date, so I'm taking my married friend. I'm determined to be a happy spinster, though.)

My friend Pam's article Unholy Act is in the April issue of Texas Monthly and I'm excited, cause this one sounded like a doozy. Beauty queen, priest, a forty-five year old murder, suppression of evidence, morally questionable behavior of the catholic church...yowza. (Kelly, Pam is giving me a copy of the magazine to send to you.)
