Aug. 15th, 2005 11:39 amSpent Friday evening with Nadia, dinner and foodshoppage. Whole Foods appears to have a lot of singles action of a Friday eve.
Satrurday I didn't leave my building. Cleaned, organized, redecorated here and there, got rid of stuff (though, not having left the building, it's still in the to-go-away pile), fiddled with bits and pieces of jewelry to make new and improved bits of jewelry, read, puttered, etc. Then I went to a low-key party--still in my building--up on the third floor where I drank two glasses of very good wine and ate green chips and guacamole.
Sunday I managed to avoid doing the one thing on my list--reading the stack of stories for the ArmadilloCon workshop I'm teaching in all day Friday--by more puttering and being narcoleptic with the cats. Then Chad called and we went to see Hustle and Flow at the Alamo. I had almost no expectations except that, despite the good reviews it's gotten, the premise didn't really appeal to me, but--it's a really good movie. I loved all the characters, the actors were great, the story was well done. Well worth seeing. Completely engrossing and engaging.
Then there was a couple hours in which I finally managed to read some of the workshop stories before going down for the Sunday night movie at Alexandra's store.
All in all, a restful and satisfying weekend.

kelly_yoyo asked, here are pics of the old Thai puppet N&C gave me for the b-day:
