rain.

The air is cool and smells so good now.

Spent yesterday pleasantly, revising, reading, napping, then went to Book People and met Phyllis; we went across the street to Whole Foods for coffee with pastry and fruit and people watching, then back to Book People for a prolonged meander and browse through its two floors of books books books, magazines, and fun little present-y objects. I gave in a used the freaking credit card to get some prezzies for peeps. I also got two books for meeeeee, one off the bargain table for research purposes, Latitude Zero, Tales of the Equator and for reading, Michael Chabon's The Final Solution.

Then we walked downtown, caught the dillo to my place, went out to the lofts garden and picked some swiss chard and mint and I made dinner (free range andouille chichen sausage sauteed in olive oil with the chard plus leftover creamed pearl onions) while Phyllis read my story in Interzone and gave me lovely gratifying feedback. Mint tea with raw sugar cubes for dessert. We watched a Sharpe movie and Numb3rs and yakked in between. Very nice.
