Dec. 20th, 2005 01:02 pmTwo sleeps until Vancouver!
Is J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter oeuvre actually better than Diana Wynne Jones and her Chrestomanci Books or did Rowling just hit at the right time with the right marketing behind her? I love the Chrestomanci books, but perhaps I really don't groove in the same place as the majority of the popular imagination? Or maybe I'm simplifying too much...but it's part of some thoughts that have been snarling about in my head lately, about why some people hit so well and others, whose writing is just as wonderful, or better--for my money--than those who hit, just don't...
Had Greek food for lunch; avgelemono, mmmmm.
