Jan. 3rd, 2006 09:14 amA nice review of Interzone #201 in Tangent online with nice words about my story "Boy Twelve." Yay.
I've had this tape a friend made me for years, my 'praying for rain' tape, on which she put lots of great rainsongs, Tom Waits, John Lee Hooker, Bessie Smith, and many more. The tape's been dying, just when I need it in the midst of this long dry spell. So yesterday evening I searched down all the songs I could on iTunes, got them, and remade my tape as a CD, with some new additions to replace the ones I couldn't find, plus some fx of rain as caesura between songs. This is me, very pleased, listening to my make the rain come voodoo tape.
A new show debuted on A&E last night, Rollergirls, a reality show about rollerball teams here in Austin, featuring (last night) the Putas del Fuego and the Rhinestone Cowgirls. I detest reality shows, but I watched cause I know some them and it's Austin and they are fun rough tough haaawwwt womens. Predictably I got bored, but it was fun for a little while. (it's more fun to just go to one of their bouts)
