Mid-afternoon is just the most tired-ass time of day. Especially when you're sitting at a desk in a windowless office where you've been for the last four-ish hours already.

In other news, nose-deep (I have a fairly long nose) in the new story during writing hours. Moving along.

Heard a long screech and crash late last night, but nothing could be discerned from my balcony spy vantage.

Many birdlings a-songing this morning. And cats making that i-want-to-eat-bird-so-much-i-can-taste-it ah-ah-ah sound they make. The sweet little fanged raw meat eaters.

A memorial service has been scheduled for SF writer Octavia Butler, who died Feb. 24 at the age of 58, at the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle, 7:30 p.m. March 2. Local SF authors, including Vonda N. McIntyre, Greg Bear and Brian Herbert, will read favorite passages from her work and speak about her life and influence.

A bit of regrettable syntax in there, but you get the idea.
