updatishly

Nice full weekend; hung out a lot with my cousin and her hub, both of whom are thoroughly lovely individuals; met a number of their writer and poet friends, all interesting folks with whom I had much entertaining converse about writing. Acquired a few books at the book fair of the AWP conference and got taken out to eat three times and then thanked for my local expertise in picking good places. Sweet.

Finished typing in and second drafting the story. (whee!)

Did three loads of laundry, clipped some phenomenally scimitar-like cat claws and brushed a lot of fur off of shedding cats; made a spinach-feta quiche; tried to go to see a program of animated shorts in which a friend has a piece but couldn't get in and hung out with C for a while at Little City instead.

All in all, pretty good, even if I still somehow managed to find time last night to feel a little sad and lonely and wish I was in Vancouver...
