I am at Turkey City sitting next to the wildly talented Mr. Jeff VanderMeer; we're all waiting for Howard, as the only one without email and access to pre-posted stories, to finish reading before we lunch and start workshopping. Jeff read at BookPeople last night, from Shriek: An Afterword, which I've heard him read from one other time. Good stuff, man. Yum.

Rode in this morning with [profile] stinabat.

Jeff is currently reading the back of a bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale that Lawrence has had in his fridge since 2004. Lawrence's wifi is unstale, however.

Lot of novel chapters at this TC, and only one story of actual regulation TC length, i.e., short. Howard's, of course.

At 5:30 this am, someone set off fireworks--the real, shower of light kind--on the courtyard green of my lofts. One lone soul. The lights were pretty, reflected in the third story windows of the lofts across the green, but wtf? Some obscure holiday? He set them off for about four minutes, then walked away.
