Saturday, the putative day-off
Oct. 7th, 2006 05:05 pmI have lazed and lounged and read fiction; acquired some Dunnys (I'm collecting them, yes--I like that it supports artists) at one of the stores downstairs; cleaned the loft; took care of some writing-related bidness (subs and crits); now I am eating bite-size mango-chutney papadums, listening to ATX Live on Ko-op, and taking care of a few other things that have been on the list all week (or two), languishing undone because of the fulltime yob. Oop, now I'm listening to Ear Candy, one of my favorite radio shows.
Tomorrow, writing, all morning! Whooo! (And laundry! And food shopping! And maybe a movie with N!)
I've heard we're in line for some rain later next week, and an arctic front, meaning our daytime highs will go down into the 70s and get out of the freaking 90s (it's October for Elroy's sake). Also, el nino forecasts peg us for more rain.
As for politics. I will sign petitions, write letters, forward links to things, and go to protests, but I can't talk about it or think about it anymore than I have to, or I will grind my teeth down to nubs.
