Molly Ivins, RIP
Feb. 1st, 2007 07:36 amMy boss told me this story yesterday: When she was younger, she worked at The Texas Observer. My boss admired Molly, but was too chickenshit (her word) to make friends with her at that point in her life.
She was great friends with Molly's dog, however, who always joined her for lunch to see if she had anything good to share. Molly's dog was named Shit.
Some years back I sent my brother, who is somewhere between a republican and a libertarian (the only one in the family), one of Molly's books. Just to annoy him. He called me up to groan at me upon receiving it, about that Molly Ivins person.
