The SIMS might be the best (self-given with help from A) b-day present ever. Though I was given two coconut cream donuts this morning.
Novel, what novel? (this will pass, tell me this will pass...)
Neither of my workmates in, Julia not coming in until later and Denetria already departed for the day. But I love "Summertime" and currently it's a lush female voice crooning to me. And the living is easy.
Mmmmmm.
Dinner and cake with the kids this evening (shrimp kabobs on the grill and chocolate cake with whipped cream and strawberries, I believe--I wanted Italian cream or lemon, but the kids only like to make chocolate, so the whipped cream and strawberries are the concession to the birthday girl--the actual birthday person is secondary to the excuse for cake in their eyes).
Then Club DeVille for drinks (Mexican martini for me) and convo under the trees by the natural limestone wall that backs the club's outside areas. No Pam, sadly, because she got added at the last minute to the contingent of Texas Monthly reporters going to Crawford, TX to join the Whitehouse party. One can only hope the war-mongering shrub will tangle with a longhorn and die, taking #2 man with him. That would give Pam a good story to write.
Anyway, cool for Pam.
Nice b-day emails from my sister and Donna.
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high.
