Saw The Station Agent last night. A very light touch, lovely and funny. I liked it a lot. I have more thoughts percolating about it, but they haven't brewed properly yet.
The sound of trains in the night, the stuttering light...connections and tracks where trains don't run anymore...sidelined trains...beer, whiskey, coffee, and overlooked little nooks of almost abandoned life in the wilds of New Jersey...
Anyway. Today I'm going to go pick out stain and laminate colors for my condo (for the kitchen mainly); the builders are sticking to their April target for construction completion. Yipes and wow. (bites nails) But of course picking out colors gives me all sorts of glee.
The condo site, as a nice bit of symmetry or coincidence or whatever, is by an old train yard, and there's a steam train, the Hill Country Flyer, that does its turnaround there once a week.
