Saw the rheumatologist yesterday; he's a very nice doctor-type. And when I said I was thinking of going off the methotrexate, he said, "oh, good--I think that's a good idea." The Houston "specialists" had prescribed it, but Doc Pickrell says it's never really helped with scleroderma in his experience. So, yay. It's the scariest drug I've been taking and I'm soooo relieved to be going off it. He also gave a me a prescrip for bio feedback for the raynaud's.

My friend Louisa is writing a paper for one of her accupuncture courses (four year program) and using me as her Ms. X with my handy affliction. She's sent me so many questions I've had to really think back and chart the course of the whole thing.

If you're wondering, J, I have an autoimmune disease called scleroderma. Very entertaining.

Work is busy 'cause it's the end of the fiscal year. I've purchased stuff right and left at Julia's direction, trying to use up the funds that won't carry over. We have a new Dell Optiplex which Donald the tech (a lovely and cultured geek with a voice like Sidney Poitier's) says has more power than some servers on campus. My G3 is pumped up with memory as are Julia's and Denetria's. Between spending of state funds and of the SIMs' simoleans, I may never feel the need to spend my own money again (except on food, rent, and movies, of course).

High 90s out, so humid you may as well carry a towel with you. But at least we've had enough rain that things are still green. Matteo (my godson--4 yrs old) was wearing a pair of cowboy boots with his pjs this morning; can you say cute?
