Summer evenings in Maine, my grandparents, maternal side, always had a small rootbeer float, one scoop Breyer's vanilla and rootbeer. We kids had one, too, of course. Nostalgia's a good excuse for rootbeer floats. Yup. Yumm.
University maintenance is performing steam cleaning tests on the swamp cooling system in all the u buildings, at intervals throughout each day this week; what this means is that walking from office to bus stop yesterday afternoon, every building on campus was roaring with a noise like jet engines, and blowing up fierce gales of wind. The whole walk was like being in the middle of a huge waterfall, or having several jets about to land right over you (you would have hated it, Alyx). Maintenance guys were standing on corners giving out earplugs. Bee-zarre.
