The reading last night went well. Phew. I am quite relieved it's over. N came, and P & C, plus a good sized audience for the other two writers. An older man and woman told me they really enjoyed the section I read, as did N, P, and C (of course) and several other folks, so that was pretty gratifying. I managed to project and appear calm, and look out at everyone regularly, so I feel like I acquitted myself pretty well. (and, phew, I'm glad it's over!) (for clarity's sake, this was not a reading for the novel coming out this month, but a reading of a work in progress for a local reading series called "Utter.")

As for a reading/signing for The Z Radiant, there may be some progress to be made; I met the woman who is moving into the events coordinator position at Book People (where the Utter series takes place) last night, and will try getting in touch with her, since the guy who is currently the events coordinator never responds to my emails since the first time. Also, just had an email from a local sf writer who does a lot of freelance article writing for local media, and she asked if I'd be interested in an interview/article on me and the book for a local women's mag; she already has the editor interested. So yay! (media coverage is supposed to help get the book signing and reading to happen)

Phew.

(I did fail in one thing, which was to remember to bring a camera--thus failing to follow an Alyx directive. The organizer asked if I'd do it again in the future, so somewhere down the line I'll have another chance.)
