Currently we are nearing the end of the wettest June on record since 1981 here in Austin, with a fair number of inches of rain above the average (Austin gets the same annual rainfall as Seattle, but usually in half the time). I have to admit that I am still enjoying the rain, the thunder, and the lightning, but I wouldn't say so in front of anyone, for fear of either making them break down in tears or slug me. The new wood siding N&C had put up on the house has not gotten to be painted yet, and is wet. Wet through, N fears, thereby creating a danger of serious mold issues. And I do feel bad about that.

Meanwhile, over in condo construction land, all walk-through and closing dates for my condo are now on hold until the weather pattern changes and things can dry out enough for sub-contractors to get back to work. I'm opting to forego anxiety and accept that it will happen when it happens.

Here's a shot of what Loop 360 might look like right now.

In other news, N and I rewatched Cold Comfort Farm last night, and laughed a lot. It bears repeat viewings well.

Also, the kids and C made the most delicious strawberry icecream ever in the hand crank ice cream maker that was C's Father's Day gift. Fresh organic strawberries, all other ingredients of the best, where possible organic origin. Can you say yum?
