storyrainthejournal: (annoyed)
My new health insurance sucks ass. In order to see my doc, whom I've been seeing for about five years,  and who is a specialist because I have my oh-so-trendy auto immune condition (AIC)*, I have to go see my old general practitioner--whom I have not seen since I was diagnosed with the AIC--and pay him copay, for no other reason than to get him to give me a referrel (hopefully more than one, so I don't have to see him every time) to my actual doctor. This became clear to me only after I had taken time off and taken the bus to my six-month appointment with my doc and was in his office giving the nurses my new insurance info. I suppose if I'd been less overwhelmed the last few weeks I'd have found the codicil relating to this when going through the insurance packet.

Vee are da nice helpful insurance company. You vill jump through our hoops, NOW! *whack-ah*

Feh. And I have something I need to talk to my doctor about, and have needed to, for two months; I've tried over the phone, but he always calls back when I can't get the phone, and there's no getting a doctor on the phone if you call them.
