lj is behaving horribly and has been since yesterday. I'm not even sure I'll be able to post this.

Still raining. The deeply damp, saturatedly green world is a thing of loveliness.

I got comped tickets to a an Austin Film Fest screening and last night Phyllis and I went to see Morvern Callar. Definitely an Art movie, ruminative rather than particularly narrative, though there was a plot (it's based on a book of the same name). Interesting and rather beautiful visually and aurally--they did neat things with the sound and music--and Samantha Morton was fasciinating to watch. I liked it.

I also like that in the space of two weeks I can say that I have seen or plan to see a collection of movies which includes Daredevil, Morvern Callar, Talk to Her, and Shanghai Knights. From the inane to the sublime and back again. Eclecticism thou art me.

Still haven't hit the worry/angst-everyone-will-hate-it place post-completion of story. I remain pleasantly buzzed and pleased. Does this mean a horrible crash awaits me, or that I'm growing as a person?

Lap is full of cat.

Here is a mildly amusing link that a friend sent me.

My two favorite signs from the rally: "Stop Mad Cowboy Disease" and "Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld: The Asses of Evil"

And, finally, what I liked about the most recent Buffy,

the theater of shadows--absolutely dug this. loved it. adored it

that Buffy said no to the extra demony goodness and gave those wankers what for, cause I was gonna mighty pissed if she got even more distant, high and mighty, and me all alone, friends-what are friends to me? about everything

the riff with Spike's/mom-slayer's coat
