Went to the Eastside for brunch/lunch with Pam and Chad and our friend Margaret and her visiting parents. Southern Jews from Alabama, a phenomenon I had heard about, but never encountered (Margaret doesn't really count). Verrrrry entertaining, very sweet people. And I had blintzes and they were so good. Then we walked in the Eastside's gardens, which were beautiful. It's a glorious day, after all the rain; sunny, breezy, 68 degrees farenheight. Kinda perfect.
I was going to go stretch out in the hammock and finish Minette Walters' The Shape of Snakes but I just heard Casey head out there with the kids. Damn.
Oh well. I'll find some other equally lazy thing to do.
The post story-completion blues did hit, late yesterday, but I think I've recovered.
At this moment I'm happy to be where I am.
