Courtesy of my friend Katherine, some funny here.
Hung out with Phyllis last night, which was very good for my mood. We drank wine and talked about her visit to the Buddhist Temple here, her lunch with the Buddhist nuns, their weekly meditation class and discussion group, along with our similar feeling about Buddhism. There's a lot to be said for the Buddhist way, and for detachment, but we both feel like being a human being on earth is a gift and it's a good thing to engage with the experience and the other creatures here as fully as you feel like. In fact, as many lives as possible, please. We're clearly shmoes. We were also watching television while having this discussion, so, no Buddhists here, I think.
