Clarion West Write-a-thon in support of the Clarion West six week workshop is now underway. Here's a bit of wordage out of today's work on Deep Terrain:

A memory broke in Thaniel, sudden and vivid, a spring day at Roseharrow, rain at the windows, the scent of the rosewater with which his aunts all washed their hair, the cold green of the grounds above the chasm. In three years he hadn’t had such a strong memory of his lost home. It ached in his chest, caught in his throat.

Here's my writeathon page, should you be moved to pledge/donate. When I originally went to Clarion West, I went on partial scholarship, and could not have afforded it without that help. Your dollar or two pledge could help another in that way.
