Perhaps Ayn Rand never anticipated the impact of unregulated greed on a productive middle class. Perhaps she never understood the fairness of tax money for public research and infrastructure and security, all of which have contributed to the success of big business.

In other news, huge congratulations to all the Nebula winners, and especially to E.C. Myers for the Norton Award for Fair Coin, which is a great book. Go Eugene!

In other other news, am visiting my mom, which mostly involves walks on the beach or by a canal with a lot of duck action, lounging about, and accompanying her on her morning hot tub & swim. It's nice to have a break from my own particular daily grind. I miss my bratty cats, though.
