Worked on the 5,000 words most of yesterday, although at this point I'm only reading through the novel and figuring out where the words will go.
Then dinner with the long lost to my social life Pam and Chad. We went to Ararat and had yummy eggplant dishes, among other stuff, including the stuffed figs of god for dessert, as well as a lovely belly dancer and awesome music to feast our eyes and ears. Gave Chad his birthday present, a four pack of pub beer and a beer glass, heard about Pam's various travels and the story she's working on, was amused by their byplay (as future breeders) on the subject of children (neither is at all ready for the prospect, so it will not be too soon), and discussed our upcoming roadtrip to Shreveport, Louisiana for friend Jules' wedding, weekend of October 11th. They were also very pleased to learn of the novel sale.
Raining lightly, almost a mist, all evening into the night. So. Very. Nice.
Got home and watched part of the Now and Again marathon on Trio, part of their Brilliant but Cancelled programming. It was such a good show. And Eric Close. Mmmmmmmm, good.
Today should be more work on the 5,000 words. If I'm good and get a lot done, maybe a movie this evening as a reward.
